Crus II
Crus secundum lobuli ansiformis
A posterior lobe region involved in social and cognitive processing: connected with mentalizing and executive networks.
Anatomy
- The lower part of lobule VII; separated from Crus I by the horizontal fissure.
Functions
- Active during mentalizing (understanding others’ intentions and beliefs) (Van Overwalle et al., 2014).
- Participation in the executive control and default mode networks.
Clinical
- Posterior cerebellar involvement in ASD and social-cognitive difficulties is being studied.
In the model
How this structure is defined in the 3D model, and the data source.
SUIT atlas (Diedrichsen et al., 2009) lobule labels; each point of the cerebellar surface was assigned to the nearest lobule just beneath it. Overlap between SUIT and the model’s cerebellum: Dice 0.90.
