Lobule VIII (VIIIa–VIIIb)
Lobulus biventer (VIII)
The lobule carrying the second sensorimotor body map; also connected with attention networks.
Anatomy
- Biventral lobule; subdivisions VIIIa and VIIIb (hemispheric part; vermis VIII is in the posterior vermis).
Functions
- The second somatotopic sensorimotor map (Grodd et al., 2001).
- Participation in the dorsal attention network (VIIIa).
In the model
How this structure is defined in the 3D model, and the data source.
SUIT atlas (Diedrichsen et al., 2009) lobule labels; each point of the cerebellar surface was assigned to the nearest lobule just beneath it. Overlap between SUIT and the model’s cerebellum: Dice 0.90.
